N.A.T. will show a life demo of imaging and industrial control application with MicroTCA at the “embedded world” exhibition in Nuremberg.
See the new software tools for the NAT-MCH (MicroTCA Carrier Hub) to comfortably and quickly configure MicroTCA systems.
By a built in webserver the NAT-MCH functions for VLAN grouping, PCIexpress up- and downstream, clocking and all other management functions can easily and quickly be configured using any standard webbrowser. This new software tool works in parallel to CLI (command line interface), which is accessible via Telnet or front panel RS232.
In addition to the embedded webserver a host based visualisation tool and GUI named NATView is provided. NATView is Java based and runs on any Java engine of any operating system offering an extended visualisation of the MicroTCA system and its functions likes sensors, alarms and events.
Together with the new software tools the firmware has been upgraded to fully support redundant environments with redundant MCHs and Power Modules. The new firmware also offers access by external system managers via backplane and face plate GbE. However, special care has been taken to also support MicroTCA systems that do not fully comply with the standard.
See AMC modules with telecom IO like E1, T1, J1, STM1, STM4, SDH. MCH with SRIO and PCIe
As member of Embedded4You www.embedded4you.com N.A.T. works on solutions to help customers to combine different technologies and/or to migrate from an older technology to MicroTCA. |

N.A.T. as one of the six main sponsors of this event would like to invite you to attend the N.A.T. workshop and session:
14:20 - 15:00 Workshop 3: MicroTCA Carrier Hub - the central brain of a MicroTCA system
The MicroTCA Carrier Hub (MCH) is the key component for the management of MicroTCA systems. It is the MCH who brings features from
E-Keying, power administration, management of cooling units, system status management, alarms and events up to high availability and redundancy to
MicroTCA system and application. The MCH is also enabling MicroTCA systems to be remotely controlled and managed as well as remotely serviced and
maintained. Moreover, the MCH takes care of the centralized switching of the defined fabrics, i.e. GbE, SAS/SATA, PCIexpress, 10GbE or SRIO, so that
no further switching components are needed within a MicroTCA system. The attendees will learn about the central role of a MCH and the caveats when
building a MicroTCA system.
16:40-17:00 Paper B15: Building a MicroTCA system - key components and peripherals from N.A.T.
Beside the MicroTCA Carrier Hub (MCH) as the key component for the management of MicroTCA systems N.A.T. offers a broad range of
peripheral Advanced Mezzanine Cards (AMCs) such as I/O cards, line interfaces, extenders, communication resource boards, housings etc.
Using standard applications a few sample MicroTCA systems will be put together for industrial automation as well as for communication. Special
emphasis will be put on the MicrTCA fabrics, such as GbE, SAS/SATA, PCIexpress, 10GbE and SRIO. The attendees will learn about the caveats when
building a MicroTCA system and the solutions from N.A.T..
