The NPMC-860-SIO is an intelligent PMC module with the Motorola MPC860 PowerPC CPU and four serial I/O ports. This module is equipped with up to 16 MByte DRAM, 4 MByte FLASHProm and 256KB SRAM. Software support is offered for VxWorks and the N.A.T. proprietary Real-Time Kernel OK-1. The four SCC channels as well as the two SMC channels of the MPC860 are connected to the front panel connectors by serial tranceivers, which optionally can form RS232, RS422 and/or RS485 interfaces. All ports may be optically isolated separately. Alternatively all signals of the Sccs, SMCs, the SPI- and the I2C ports are available on the PMC I/O connector.
