Description

The NAT-PM-DC600LV is a 600W DC/DC Power Module for MTCA applications. It is hot-swappable, high-efficient, fully redundant, and therefore a perfect choice for all air-cooled MTCA systems.

The NAT-PM-DC600LV provides efficient power conversion from two 24VDC input sources to 16 independent channels for payload and management power. This is sufficient for the expected workload of 12 AMC modules, 2 Cooling Units, and 2 MCHs with 12V @ 6.6A max. and 3.3V @ 180mA max.

Due to its input voltage range, it is ideally suited to cover applications for mobile systems with a typical 24V power net e.g., installed on a truck.

The two 24VDC power inputs offer the following features:

  • input protection and under-voltage shutdown
  • input isolation
  • inrush control
  • input ORing
  • EMI filtering
  • holdup circuit

On its secondary side, the NAT-PM-DC600LV provides:

  • output filtering stage
  • output voltage protection
  • output short circuit protection

As all of NAT’s Power Modules, the NAT-PM-DC600LV supports load sharing. According to the MTCA specifications, it is fully redundant and ensures e.g., N+1 and 2+2 redundancy. So it provides Shared Power Management (SMP), which means it ensures backup power for up to three Power Modules. In case of an input power supply failure, the onboard EMMC can provide SMP power from other PMs. So the MCH is able to analyze root cause failure.

By means of its robust EMMC (Enhanced Module Management Controller) for power control functionality, the NAT-PM-DC600LV as well as its relatives communicates with the MCH. An optical load indicator realized by an LED bar displays the level of power utilization of the whole system continuously.

As an ordering option, the NAT-PM-DC600LV DC Power Module is available as 300W or 600W version, each in full-size form factor with a single-width or double-width front panel.
